04.22.10 (posted 04.25.10) - this evening i attended a charity event at the angel orensanz foundation in the lower east side. it's one of the most unique event spaces i've been to. it is named after spanish american artist, angel orensanz. he bought the former ansche chesed synagogue (1849) and created the foundation in 1992 as an artistic and cultural resource open to artists, writers, thinkers and leaders from all over the world and the local community. here's a picture i snapped of the ark and the stage in the main room.
