04.15.10 (posted 04.20.10) - i was in midtown this morning for a meeting near grand central station. as i was walking toward the subway line, there was crowd of people at the corner of 42nd and park avenue.
a colleague made a comment wondering why all these people were looking up and taking pictures. the crowd were tourists taking photos of the facade featuring a 50-ft pediment with statues of hercules, minerva, and mercury. these statues surround a 13 foot clock at one of the many entrances into grant central station.
the problem is after living in this city for so long, we are used to just getting to and front point a to point b. we often forget to look up and realize how amazing the skyline is. so i joined the tourists and took this shot before hopping on to the subway.
